Carbon Ceramic OSPW Rear Cage
Large oversize CNC machined jockey wheels reduce the kinking that normally occurs as the chain rolls around standard small jockey wheels, reducing mechanical friction and lost power. Hybrid ceramic bearings provide a smooth and energy efficient ride. It’s estimated that our OSPW derailleur cages save around 2.5w. The carbon fibre cage is lightweight and extremely durable.
Why are our OSPW derailleur cages so much cheaper than ‘big name’ brands?
We use hybrid ceramic bearings (ceramic balls, nylon cage). They use full ceramic bearings, which run very well but are extraordinarily expensive. Oversize jockey wheels are a major friction saver due to reduced chain kinking, with the bearings only part of the performance equation. For about 3x the cost you probably get around 0.5w improvement with full ceramic bearings! A huge cost premium for an insignificant benefit. FastTT OSPW derailleur cages are a fraction of the price of the ‘big name’ brands, but still deliver the highest performance.
